Phillip Jones Hello Fellow Soul,

My name is Phillip Jones. My good friends like to call me Big Dog. I suppose when you're 6'5" and weigh 260, a nickname is inevitable.

In my desire to create the perfect story, I  have taken a path like no other. I have allowed and will continue to allow the fans of the Worlds of the Crystal Moon (including you) to give feedback on my series. I give everybody my email and cell phone number. I listen to your input and dissect any critique offered with a select panel of advisors. After careful consideration, I implement many of the fan's suggestions, and in doing so, we strengthen the story together. The Crystal Moon will always be bigger than, Phillip "Big Dog" Jones. This series is even bigger than its story. It is about you, the collective of souls who have taken time out of your lives to help create the journey which is the Worlds of the Crystal Moon. Permit me to expand on what happened to begin this adventure of ours.

Does your mind ever take you places...places you know are fanciful, yet seem so remarkable and unquestionably real? I hope so, because if not, you're missing out. The reason I ask is because my mind takes me on many fantastic journeys. These visions are so vivid, its as if I'm actually there participating, waiting for what lies around the next corner.

A few years ago I had a series of dreams. They always managed to tie into one another, but one night the story ended. I stopped dreaming for almost six months and if I was dreaming, I simply couldn't remember them. Finally, on the night of October 16, 2007,  I woke up in a heavy sweat. My visions had been so unforgettable. I felt like the reality I woke up to was still, somehow, a part of the fantasy I just escaped and for a few agonizing moments, I was unable to distinguish if I was truly in my own bed.

I remember panicking and sitting up to quickly look around. When I finally calmed down and collected my bearings, I knew my mind had once again taken me to the start of a brand new story. I was inspired and as I washed my face, I looked into the bathroom mirror. Everything I had dreamt was still there...locked inside my mind.

I sat down in front of my computer and began to write. The story just poured out onto my computer screen. Some 39 hours later, I realized I had just written my first six chapters of the Crystal Moon, World of Grayham.

It was incredible. I could literally see everything in my mind's eye. I had always written down my thoughts and on a few occasions wrote other stories, but nothing like this one...this one was special. This dream inspired story had the ability to be timeless, a story with the key ingredients to make others want to read it as well. It needed to be shared with the world.

Needless to say, after 39 hours, I was tired. I had extracted everything I'd dreamt and was unable to progress further. I went to bed frustrated. I had no idea where the story was going. Not only did I not know, but I was worried I wouldn't be able to write anything to finish such an incredibly perfect beginning. I slept for 16 hours, and again found myself inside the dream exactly where I'd left off.

The World of Grayham, at least in my mind's eye, was breathtaking. If I could have pulled you into this fantasy with me your joy would have manifested. I would have shared the experience of my first ride on a giant griffin's back. It was incredible. The griffin's name was Soresym. The first time we fell from the 7,000 foot cliff, called Griffon Falls, to the land below was spiritual. I remember grabbing tight to the saddle's leather straps which rested on his back and shouting.

If only you could have been there to see the Water Mist Mares of Zandra and how these ghostly mares floated above the lake's surface. We could have said hello to the King of Brandor and watched as Shalee Adamson bonded to her Staff of Sorcery. I can only imagine we would have enjoyed the experience of meeting Kroger, a giant gentle ogre whose heart is just as big as he is.

When I woke from this incredible journey, I had a problem. I needed to go to work, but my adventures pulled me back to the computer. I had no choice...I had to write. So, since I worked for myself, I picked up the phone and said, "Hey Phil, you've got the day off."  Yeah, yeah, yeah...it was a stupid thing to act out, but I certainly got a laugh out of it. I suppose sometimes we all need to play little games to stay amused.

As I started to write, the story continued to once again pour onto my screen. It has been over two years now and my dreams have continued to feed my mind. I know now this adventure will be a series of six books. The Crystal Moon, World of Grayham and the Crystal Moon, Magic of Lvelles are just the beginning. My dreams have taken me through the entire story.

Now, as I put the proverbial pen to paper (or fingers to the keys) I find my dreams are playing a supporting role. It is because of people like you, the fans of the Worlds of the Crystal Moon and your feedback, the first two books in the series are becoming an epic adventure. I would like you join join us now in creating a total of six novels.

So, now you know how the Big Dog's mind works, I might as well tell you something about my life. I was born on January 25th, 1971...in Raleigh, North Carolina. I swear to you North Carolina has bugs the size of small planes. Hell, if you get bitten by a mosquito in that state, you might as well go straight to the blood bank. I no longer have an accent, but put me around some of my relatives for a week and it comes right back. It feels and sounds weird to say the word bug in thirteen syllables.

I was raised by my Aunt Judy, an incredible woman with a heart of gold. It was because of her selflessness that she took me in and raised me as her own. This is the woman I call...Mother.

I went to school in Broomfield, Colorado. Broomfield High-Go Eagles! I graduated in June of 1990 and by July of 1990, I moved on to serve our great country in the United States Navy for five years and worked as an Air Traffic Controller at NAS Fallon, NV. As all good sailors do, I learned how to perfect my ability to swear and had many good times while doing it. After being injured, I was retired from the Navy in November 1995.

I'm a father of two "incredible" boys. Christopher, my oldest, now 17, is strong willed and extremely smart. Give this young man a skate board and if he doesn't fall on his ass, he's loving life. Chase, the baby, now 12, has more charisma in his pinky finger than I have in my entire body. I have never seen anyone make friends the way he does. I suppose I should thank his mother for that. YEAH RIGHT! It was all me!

Now I live in Utah. I am all about scuba diving. If I had one wish, it would be for a set of gills and a spear gun. My second love is a winding road to ride my motorcycle. Susuki, M-109- she's a beauty.

For now, I am single. I will keep ya'll posted when the right one comes along. Feel free to give feedback as you read the journeys of my mind. I would love to hear from anyone that wants to send me an email. ( This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it ) I am the kind of guy who is willing to listen to other points of view. Maybe your idea is worthy of being in a book.

I hope you enjoy my dreams.
