Earth was an undisturbed planet until the cataclysmic event known as The Turning Point. It was July 4, 2044 when an asteroid hit creating a crater a mile deep and equally as wide, leaving behind a perfect circle. The asteroid was never recovered. It hit the southern end of Greenland, causing a tsunami. The tsunami hit the border of Canada, destroying everything in its path, and covered two miles inland, killing an estimated 40,000 people. Scientists from everywhere swarmed the site trying to understand why they hadn't seen it coming, why it disappeared, and what this meant for our planet. They had many theories. Perhaps, it was not an asteroid, but a very powerful lightning strike. Maybe it melted, or we had removed it thinking it was under itself and we couldn't remember where we put it. Though no one believed what happened was for any of those reasons, no one offered another solution to the problem. One scientist's child, a boy who was sixteen and his fifteen year old sister, believed this was just one occurrence of many which couldn't be explained because people didn't want to believe what they couldn't understand. "Dad how do you explain the disappearance of an object that big then?" The boy yelled at his father. "Mother nature doesn't want it explained, I mean, think of everything else we can't explain." The scientist calmly replied. "Oh, sure and the tooth fairy is the reason I have teeth, right?" "No, Joshua, but I'm surprised you still have them seeing as you got in a fight a week ago." The girl cut in. "Well, Jannalice, thank you for that and why, may I ask, did you cut in?" Joshua asked. "Because, dear brother, I am trying to finish The 1001 Best Causes of Erosion." Jannalice said confidently. "Oh, Janna you're reading it, finally!" Her father beamed. "Yes, dad, now Josh if you don't mind I need to ask you a few questions concerning this topic", she said tapping the book, "Dad if you don't mind leaving us to this, I believe your experiment is complete." "Okay, dearest, thank you for keeping track of your dear forgetful father." As soon as her father left the room she pulled off the covering to reveal a bright blue book that's title read "Mythical Creatures of the World and Where They Reside". "What's that?" Josh asked curiously. "The answer to the "asteroid" that hit Earth." "What do you mean?'' "I mean I think that this was no "normal" event and we are going to find out." Jannalice walked over to the door to her dad's lab and hollered "Dad, me and Joshua are going for a walk." "Be careful" came his muffled reply. "Where are we going?" Joshua asked. "To find some evidence, and don't ask of what." Jannalice replied in a just shut-up tone. They walked for a short while in silence, each pondering what they would find. |

Both Josh and Janna turned and froze in their place as they looked towards where the noice was eminating.
"Did you hear that, Janna" Josh said
"Did you?" she asked in return...
"I think we've found our evidence." And before Josh could stop her, Janna had jogged around the crater and started searching around the bushes.
"What-" Josh started, but was interrupted by his sister's triumphant cry...
"Really Janna you're going t--"Josh started.
"Tamanerarasa." Said the dragon.
"Where?" Janna asked.
"Tamanerasa, it means home world, and what is this place?" spat the dragon.
