Darin Southam hopes to audition for the role of George Nailer, the most devious character within the Worlds of the Crystal Moon series. | Print |

Darin is an up and coming, talented, actor who has not been fully discovered. He has been acting in the film industry for over ten years. His career really began to take off after his first principle role in the Disney film  "Going To The Mat,” as Yardley, a football jock who bullies Khleo Thomas (Holes) for wearing a varsity letterman’s jacket. The following year Darin booked his next principle role in the Disney film “Halloweentown High,” as the Troublemaker, a disruptive student who gets an eyeful after sassing Debbie Reynolds (Singin' in the Rain); he also bullies Lucas Grabeel (High School Musical fame) only to get tossed by a large Troll. Darin showed his ability to carry a film when he took a starring role as King Alfred in “The Saxon Chronicles,” a festival indie film about the life of the great king, a role he filled with ease. He then went on to land the leading role of Jeremy Harris in Discovery Channel’s number one series at the time, “I Shouldn’t Be Alive,” where he reenacted a severe survival story of rescuing his injured brother from death as he struggles to stay alive himself. Darin continued to make cameo appearances in film and television until he starred in “Gold Is Not Enough,” where he played a spoof James Bond, who sings his way through one villain after another to save his damsel in distress. The award winning musical short film has a funny surprise ending and the lyrics were performed and written by Darin Southam, with his stepsister Emily Dunn (Napoleon Dynamite) as his damsel in distress belting her harmonious approval of her hero.

Darin’s latest major role was in the film “One Man’s Treasure,” as Elder Johnson, an uptight Mormon missionary who has a huge change of heart and learns a lot from a light hearted companion. Currently, Darin lives in Newport Beach California where he continues delivering moving performances in film and commercial alike.

I like this alot. Give him dark hair and brown contacts and you have a winner.

He would be a perfect George! He has the look, alluring charm that is needed to pull of the role, and he is a poised actor, I've seen his previous work. Give him the part. I think he would add a definate intense zest to the film that it deserves, and draw in many fans. As stated previously by another comment, he will make girls swoon, and as films such as Twilight have proven... that's bank $$.

I need to know more. I want to see a take or two where Darin is acting out his darker side. George requires this.

Darin is a dynamic and dedicated actor. As a fellow actor, I can attest to his brilliance. We worked together on a period piece for a local director and he came to work ready and prepared! It was awesome to be able to work with him. I have no doubt he would succeed as this character and in this series!

Darin is a great actor, dedicated, hard working and able to apply himself to any role. I think he would be a great asset to the movie and I would love to see him in a role that portrays a darker and more devious character.

I could easily see Darin embodying this duplicitous character... I hope to see his screen-test reel for this role!

I've seen clips of Darin in action and I believe that he would be great. To the extent that I would have to apologize for not liking him (especialy in the realy bad George sceenes), that is how good I think Darin would be. On top of it all he has that face that would just make you fall for anything he said (just like George). I think he will be perfect for the role.

Darin is very versatile. He should have no trouble playing devious or dark. In real life, he's noble and pure; but he's a genius at capturing all kinds of characters and attitudes as an actor.

Darin's wife Michelle and I have been friends for over 17 years years! I know that Darin is a good person who is capable of playing a very devious/evil role. He would do a fantastic job!
